Belfast confidence mark during COVID-19

  • Reopening to the public

Businesses and shops in Belfast are reopening as COVID-19 lockdown restrictions are lifted. We are distributing a confidence mark window sticker to shops and premises reopening to the public. The confidence mark can reassure people that a shop or store has measures in place to help keep their customers safe.

  • Displaying the Belfast confidence mark

The ‘confidence mark’ is not a safety accreditation and we aren’t inspecting business premises that display the confidence mark. The confidence mark should reassure people that the business has measures in place to help people stay safe and adhere to the public safety advice. For example, people might be reassured when shops and businesses can:

provide hand sanitisers and paper towels at the shop door
count and limit how many people enter the premises at one time
close the premises for a short time to clean shelves, trolleys or baskets
use floor marking inside the premises to indicate safe distances between people

  • Where businesses can collect a confidence mark

Business-owners can collect free confidence mark stickers from the main information desk in Visit Belfast. Visit Belfast is open Monday to Saturday from 9.30am until 5pm.
