    East Belfast Mission

    They are committed to developing a network of support for individuals and families living in inner East Belfast. Referrals can be made for food relief at the local food larder, Mersey Street Food Larder, which is run by Louise Ferguson, Church of Ireland minister.     Belfast South Methodist Church Agapé centre


    They run a low priced lunches afternoon for all senior citizens in the area and are linked with Storehouse so can provide emergency food relief and sign posting to other services.

    Can provide emergency relief food parcels and signposting to other services to prevent any future assistance.

    Society of St Vincent de Paul

    Can provide food parcels and signposting to other support services to individuals who need some assistance.

    Consumer Advice Centre

    The centre provides free face to face expert independent consumer advice to individuals in Belfast on many issues like consumer rights and consumer credit.

    Belfast Citywide Tribunal Service

    The service provides free, confidential and independent advice on a range of issues including benefits, consumer advice, debt, employment and housing issues.

    Debt Advice NI

    They offer free, confidential and independent debt and money advice.

    Advice NI

    They provide information, advice and support services on a range of issues including benefits, housing, employment, careers and education.

    Credit Unions

    They offer a safe place for savings and access to loans at a reasonable rate of interest, starting from £50.

    Parenting NI

    They support parents - delivering services to promote positive parenting and support to parents on a wide range of issues including financial stresses and family planning. They also have a Small Change 6 week parenting programme which looks at managing debt/finances and the stresses which go with it as well as offering hints and tips for planning and family budgeting.

    Housing Rights Service

    Belfast City Council community gardens and allotments

    Make use of one of the Belfast City Council Community Gardens or Allotments to grow your own fruit, vegetables or herbs.

    Belfast Metropolitan College (BMC)

    Benefit from a free Essential Skills course at the BMC; they offer Essential Skills in Literacy, Numeracy and Information Technology from Entry Level 1. They also offer Key Skills in Working with Others, Improve Own Learning and Problem Solving. Discounts are provided for many courses if you are receiving Job Seeker's Allowance.
