Animal adoption is the perfect gift for animal lovers. At the present rate of destruction, more than 10,000 species could disappear by the year 2050. Belfast Zoo and zoos around the world are working together to help save these species.

You can support Belfast Zoo, the work that we do and the animals that we care for by adopting an animal. From the tiny pygmy marmoset to the majestic Barbary lion, there's more than 100 species to choose from.

You must agree to our terms and conditions before adopting an animal.

Adoption packages can be collected from the zoo or posted. There is a £4.70 delivery charge for postage. Adoption packages are sent first class and signed for. An adoption package can take up to five days to process.

Choose your adoption package

Animal adoption lasts for one year and with packages starting from £35, there’s an option for every budget.
If you choose our cub or bronze adoption packages you can adopt these animals:

lion
gorilla
giraffe
meerkat
chimpanzee
penguin
red panda
sea lion
sloth

If you choose the silver or gold adoption packages, you can adopt any animal in the zoo.

There can be only one name on an animal adoption.

Cub - £35

Gift packs

We have a number of zooper gift packs available that include animal experiences.

Choose from:

Experience Pack: includes a bronze adoption and animal experience for £120 per person
Adult gift pack: includes a bronze adoption, animal experience and adult membership for £165 per person.

All animal experiences have age restrictions.

Adopters’ day

Animal adopters are invited to our exclusive animal adopter’s day which takes place annually. This event includes a guided tour of the zoo and a chance to learn more about your favourite animals.

Please note that our adoption scheme is not open to commercial companies who want to sponsor an animal or enclosure. Instead, we offer a range of corporate partnership opportunities for commercial businesses.
