Work placements

Belfast City Council

We're one of the largest employers in Belfast and we're keen to support those who need help getting on the employment ladder, whether you're a graduate, school leaver, registered disabled or in long-term unemployment.

We work with the Department for the Economy to offer placement opportunities through a range of schemes and initiatives, including: 

• Steps to Success
• Youth Employment Scheme
• Training for Success.

We also provide paid one-year industrial placement opportunities for students at local universities in a range of areas, including IT, communications, events management and environmental health. These are advertised on our job vacancies page.
