Walking is one of the easiest and cheapest ways of enjoying the outdoors and keeping fit. We have different walking routes in our parks to help you get active.

For short walks up to roughly two hours and under four miles you should consider joining one of the Walking in your Community groups based in Belfast.
For longer walks in Belfast and beyond you could consider joining a rambling club. Rambling groups walk up to ten miles over one day. Groups affiliate to the Ulster Federation of Rambling Clubs and there are a number based in Belfast.
Parkruns (link opens in new window) are 5km events and take place in many parks in Belfast on Saturday mornings. The events are open to walkers as well as runners. If you are interested in walking at one of the events register at parkrun and join the #parkwalk club.
The aim of orienteering is to navigate in sequence between a set of points. This is done by deciding the best route to complete the course in the quickest time. It does not matter how young, old or fit you are, you can progress at your own pace.
