Our spooktacular Halloween event recently won ‘Best Family Event’ at the Primary Times Star Awards. This success was then followed by the award for ‘Best Event at an Attraction’ at the Day out with the Kids Family Favourites Awards. Both awards were nominated and voted for by members of the public based on their own experiences!
Visitors to Boo at the Zoo this year can experience a weekend of fiendish fun for all the family, with a range of activities including:
- Meet the zoo’s mini monsters
- Petrifying pumpkin decorating
- Freaky face painting
- Creepy keeper talks
- Spooky slime sessions
- Creepy crafts and games
- Terrifying touch tables
- Trick or treat feeding times for the animals
Children aged 4-16 in full fancy dress receive free admission (*terms and conditions apply), under 4’s go free and normal admission applies to all other visitors. All advertised activities are included in the admission price.
The zoo is open from 10am until 4pm, with last admission at 2.30pm.

*Terms and conditions for free child admission are as follows:
- Children must be in FULL fancy dress to avail of the free entry offer. A mask, face paint or headband in isolation will not be accepted as fancy dress and normal admission will apply.
- One child (per adult paying normal admission) will receive free admission if in full fancy dress.
- Children must be aged between 4 and 16.
- Children under the age of 4 are free.
- All children under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult at all times while in the zoo.
- This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or discount.
- Normal opening hours apply. Last admission is strictly at 2.30pm.
- Belfast Zoo reserves the right to refuse admission if necessary.
