To help learning continue during COVID-19 (coronavirus), we are now offering online education sessions.
Our education team will deliver an online session which will link to a chosen curriculum topic. Participants will virtually get to meet some of our animals, followed by a question and answer session. For younger age groups, we can incorporate story telling as well.
“One of the core aims of the zoo is to connect people with wildlife,” said John Fisher, Belfast Zoo’s Education Officer.
As we are unable to visit schools and deliver education sessions in person, we felt it was crucial to offer an alternative method for our audiences to stay connected with our amazing animals.
Zoo Manager, Alyn Cairns, said: “We have a strong education team at Belfast Zoo so it made sense for us to adapt our offering so we could continue to use it! Education is a core part of what we do. We strongly believe in teaching about conservation and about why protecting our wildlife is so important.”
We are really pleased to be launching our online learning education sessions and we hope that people find the service both useful and informative.
These sessions will be delivered on Microsoft Teams and will last around 30 minutes. The cost is £100 and you can have up to two class sessions.
