Civic amenity sites

  • Guidelines for using our civic amenity sites

    • Cars can access all our civic amenity sites. A maximum limit of two cars on site applies to Agnes Street and Springfield Road civic amenity sites. There is a one-way system at Cregagh Road.
    • Pedestrians can access Springfield Road and Agnes Street civic amenity sites. 
    • Vans and light goods vehicles cannot access our civic amenity sites. If you have a van or light goods vehicle, use one of our recycling centres.
    • If there are queues or delays, co-operate with any traffic arrangements in place and the instructions from staff.
    • Show respect for our staff at all times. We have a zero-tolerance policy on work-related violence.
    • Last admission to each site is 15 minutes before the site is due to close.
    • All site users must follow these rules. Failure to do so will result in users being asked to leave the site.

    Our amenity centres are located at:

    • Agnes Street (between Crumlin Road and Shankill Road)

    • Springfield Avenue (off Springfield Road near Falls Road)
      Address: 1 Springfield Avenue, BT12 7BA
    • 368 Cregagh Road 
      Address: 368 Cregagh Road, BT6 9EY

    Last admission to each site is 15 minutes before the site is due to close.

  • What can I bring to the civic amenity sites?

    You can bring these items:

    • general household waste that can’t be recycled
    • glass bottles and jars
    • paper
    • tins
    • cans
    • textiles
    • household rubble (maximum quantity allowed is two 25kg bags)
    • cardboard
    • scrap metal
    • green waste (Springfield Avenue and Cregagh Road only)
